Raising African Authors for Global Impact
A four-day gathering dedicated to the formation of African Christian authors
About the Event
The Imbila Writers Conference 2026 is a four-day gathering dedicated to the formation of African Christian authors who write with conviction, excellence, and global relevance.
Following a foundational inaugural conference in 2025, this second edition builds intentionally on that momentum—going deeper into the craft of writing, the discipline of publishing, and the spiritual formation required to steward words faithfully.
This conference exists because the African Church must not only grow numerically, but also speak clearly, write faithfully, and leave a written witness for generations to come. Imbila Publishers is committed to raising authors who are rooted in Scripture, grounded in African realities, and prepared to serve the global Church through sound, high-quality Christian literature.
Theme
"Raising African Authors for Global Impact" calls African writers to embrace both identity and excellence—to write from their own context and convictions while meeting global standards of clarity, theological depth, and literary craft.

📅 30 March – 2 April 2026
📍 Kitwe, Copperbelt – Zambia

Over four immersive days, participants will experience:
Professional teaching on writing and publishing in African and global contexts

Devotional sessions focused on calling, faithfulness, and obedience in writing
Interaction with experienced publishers, editors, and authors

This conference is intentionally formational rather than motivational, designed to shape both the writer and the work.

Why This Conference Matters
If African Christians do not write their own stories, theology, and testimonies, they will be written for—or misrepresented. The Imbila Writers Conference exists to address this gap by forming writers who are faithful to Scripture, responsible with culture, and committed to excellence.
This is not merely a conference. It is part of a long-term vision to see African Christian books written, published, and read across the world.
